Beschreibung

When anyone can start a business (when everyone is running their career like a business), it begs a question. This is your one chance at life, you can have anything you want, what is worth doing?
Most people don't know why they're doing what they're doing. They imitate others, go with the flow, and follow paths without making their own.
They spend decades in pursuit of something that someone convinced them they should want, without realizing that it won't make them happy.
Anything You Want is a manifesto about living life, appreciating enough, and doing what matters. It's most of what fabled entrepreneur Derek Sivers learned in ten years of starting and growing a small business, compacted into something you can listen to in an hour and a half. A life worth living starts with knowing your personal philosophy of what makes you happy and what's worth doing.

Love this audiobook

It’s probably the first time I was listening to an audiobook from beginning until the end without a break. As an entrepreneur myself I can’t agree more with the author. A few quotes from the audiobook to remember:

Do only what makes you happy and don’t focus on the money.

Success comes from persistently improving and inventing.

If you are not saying “hell yeah” then say “no”.

Ideas are worth nothing unless executed.

These 2 hours are a good investment of time if you are an entrepreneur or planning to be one.

Read this before any other business book

This is one of the few books that I listened to at a non-accelerated pace. I found it very refreshing to find someone opposing the much treaded profit-maximizing wannabe billionaire path. I would summarize this book as find what makes you and your customers happiest and stick with it.
