Well performed, but nobody edited

Gerald Dickens does an excellent job of reading / performing. But even the best reader does misspeak or stumble once in a while. In the rare cases that this happens, Mr. Dickens stops, goes back and picks up again. One would expect these mistakes to be edited out, but amazingly, this was not done.

The story by the elder Dickens is quite amusing, but even for a native speaker of English it requires close attention to appreciate. Germans with good but not absolutely excellent English skills will likely find it hard going and have to repeat a lot.

But for those with excellent English, it's highly enjoyable. I imagine a family sitting around the table in the evening as one person reads the latest installment.

And a slight spoiler: the story shows that lawyers attitudes have not changed at all in the years since it was written.
