'It followed me home,' he said conversationally.
In a rural northern village, legend tells of a ghostly black dog that appears from the darkness before you die.
Shadow Moon has been on the road a while now, but he can't walk any farther tonight, not with the rain lashing down. Gratefully he heads home with a nice English couple, who offer a box room, hot whisky and local tales. But when the man collapses en route, Shadow realises that something about this place has been left untold. Something ancient, something within the very walls of the village. Something shadowing them all.

Short, but intriguing!

Loved, that the writer was the speaker as well! Just can't stop being fascinated by Shadow Moon & all the people/gods/creatures, that surround him. I really hope there'll be more to come :)

Great short story

This I a story about Shadow, whom the listener may know from the book American Gods. Listeners already familiar with American Gods and Neil Gaiman's writing in general will enjoy this, but it works great as a stand alone.
This story works not only as a narrative but also on other levels, touching on the subject of depression and how it can affect the person and those around them.
