Killer in the Rain

  • von Raymond Chandler
  • Sprecher: Elliott Gould
  • 5 Std. 58 Min.
  • gekürztes Hörbuch

Here are four classic mysteries from the master of the American detective story. "Killer in the Rain" and "The Curtain" are early works that laid the groundwork for the creation of the Philip Marlowe character. "Goldfish" and "Finger Man" feature Marlowe at his very best.
A must-have collection for every Chandler fan.

Not really worth it.

if you've read Chandler's Philip Marlowe novels then there is very little original here. Chandler reused much of what is in these short stories in his novels (particularly The Big Sleep), with only minor differences. Whilst this is interesting to see how Chandler's style developed, it's not particularly interesting if you know his novels well. I'm also not a particularly big fan of Elliot Gould's reading of this. The reading of Chandler's novels by Ray Porter is a far superior version of Philip Marlowe. I can recommend those wholeheartedly, but this I can only recommend if you are interested in seeing the development of the writer.
