Penguin presents the unabridged, downloadable, audio edition of Only We Know by Karen Perry, read by Brian Fenton, Niamh Daly and Marcella Riordan.
In 1982, on a once-in-a-lifetime holiday beneath the stifling heat of the midday sun, three children start a game that ends in tragedy.
Now, thirty years later, Nick, Luke and Katie are estranged, yet still bound together by the dark truth of what happened at the river that day.
Except some secrets won't stay buried.
And when Luke suddenly vanishes and the threatening messages begin, it seems that the strings of the past are tightening around them all. Because someone else knows what they did and is intent on seeking justice, at any cost....

Deadly boring

When the end finally came, I have thought, I'd killed myself if I had to listen for 5 more minutes. Shortly after the beginning a terrible event in the childhood of three people was indicated. Then the story developed incredibly slow. For the most part one had to listen for hours how awful the three of them and others felt until today because of 'that thing' that was revealed only at the end. I didn't get the clue. Ok, they felt horrible, that is comprehensible. And that's the story? For hours! To me it rather seems the author needed to come to terms with something of her own past. I hope she succeeded, because then the book has had one positive effect at least. Clear recommendation from my side: Only buy the book, if you are interested in hours of gruelling self-reflection.
