Attacked by a serial rapist intent on murder, Sergeant Louise Nightingale is recovering in a remote family home, content in the knowledge that the psychopath has been put behind bars for a very long time. She is unaware that he was just a student of a much more deadly opponent - a nameless, faceless terror who is intent on proving his prowess on the killing field. Leaving a trail of bodies in his wake, it soon becomes clear that Louise is his ultimate goal. Desperately trying to find Nightingale before the killer does, DCI Andrew Fenwick wonders if her continued silence means he is already too late.

foreseeable but exciting

This book is really exciting even though partial foreseeable. The only thing which is disturbing is Nightingales denial that she could be in danger, that`s too naive for a police woman. Apart from that, it`s exciting to know (or guess) what the caracters don`t know at that point and how the story is unfolding.
