Classic Baldacci - tiring speaker

Story is of classic Baldacci quality, maybe not as much action as in other novels but nice to listen to.
What is tiresome is the speaker's habit to lift his voice at the last syllable of every word before a pause or taking breath, making it sound like I'm listing to someone reading a shopping list. I'd expect more quality/awareness of such things from a professional reading. Nice voice, though.
