A MONASTERY. Hidden deep in the wilderness are the cloisters of two dozen monks - men of prayer and music, famous the world over for their glorious voices.
A MURDER. But a brutal death throws the monastery doors open to the world. And through them walks the only man who can shine light upon the dark deeds within: Chief Inspector Armand Gamache.
A MYSTERY. Who among the brothers has become an angel of death? As the peace of the monastery crumbles around him, Gamache finds clues in the divine, the human... and the cracks in between.
Ingenious, gripping, and powerful, The Beautiful Mystery is the best novel yet from the internationally acclaimed author of Bury Your Dead and A Trick of the Light.

All the unnecessary information about the protangonists should just have been left out. The author should have concentrated more on the crime and its solution.
The story didn't get to the point, the end wasn't convincing at all.
No, I wouldn't give it another try. The speaker neither seems to have the ability nor the knowledge of pronouncing French words or names in an understandable way. The site of story is Quebec, a place where French is spoken, isn't it? So why engage some speaker who speaks American English and doesn't know how to pronounce neither English nor French correctly?
I was rather annoyed.
Difficult to say. It always depends on the expectaions one has. I had expected suspense but was disappointed.
