Beschreibung

"Gideon Cross came into my life like lightning in the darkness… He was beautiful and brilliant, jagged and white-hot. I was drawn to him as I’d never been to anything or anyone in my life. I craved his touch like a drug, even knowing it would weaken me. I was flawed and damaged, and he opened those cracks in me so easily… Gideon knew. He had demons of his own. And we would become the mirrors that reflected each other’s most private wounds… and desires.
"The bonds of his love transformed me, even as I prayed that the torment of our pasts didn’t tear us apart...."

missed the plot

The book was entertaining and well told, however, I missed the actual story....and an actual ending.

Without wanting to spoil the story for anyone who reads this....here is the main story: Heroine meets hero, they feel attracted to eachother and they go at it like rabbits for the next 10 hours until the book ends.
There are no highlights and no suspense and really no development of the characters...she is as insecure and he is as oblivious in the last scene as at the beginning of the book.
The ending does not solve any issues expressed during the book. It doesn't end with a highlight (such as a proposal or a pregnancy or a solution to one of their troubled pasts), but the story just stops. The book could have gone on for another 4 hours or ended 2 hours before it did...it would not have made a difference to the plot.

There was some potential for a plot in the book, however, the conflicts that are touched in the book, never get resolved. One never finds out what exactly happened to Gideon in his past and how he can overcome it. Also the reader never learns if Cary ever finds true love with Tray or not.

I personally was disappointed by the content and the story...however, the narrator does a pretty good job and the scenes are very well told...however, even in a romance novel, I would prefer it if the author would build up some tension and slowly lead towards a romantic scene, rather than just throw the sex scenes at the readers without any warning. Appart from the fact that obsessive possessive behaviour is not only tolerated, but actually promoted in this book (which I find disturbing), the sex scenes could not have been more blunt or repelling. I feel the author could have done much better...she does have potential.

Wundervoll

Wundervoll und romantisch. Beide mit einer nicht schönen Vorgeschichte wie das echte Leben. Super gemacht
