According to The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch - the world's only totally reliable guide to the future - the world will end on a Saturday. Next Saturday, in fact. Just after tea...The armies of Good and Evil are amassing, the Four Bikers of the apocalypse are revving up, and everything appears to be going according to Divine Plan. Except that a somewhat fussy angel and a fast-living demon are not particularly looking forward to the coming rapture - having thoroughly enjoyed life on earth amongst the mortals. If Crowley and Aziraphale are going to stop it from happening, they've got to find and kill the Antichrist. There's just one glitch: someone seems to have misplaced him...

"Pratchett and Gaiman are the most hilariously sinister team since Jekyll and Hyde." (James Herbert)
"The Apocalypse has never been funnier." (Clive Barker)
"Wickedly funny" (Time Out)

Apocalypse narrowly avoided

This is brilliant as it gets. The zany wits of two masters of the genre combined resulted in a weird, funny story of Armageddon. The antichrist is due to be born to the American ambassador to the UK, heralding the final battle of Good and Evil. However, an archangel and a demon, both of whom have been around for aeons, do not really want that particular battle to happen, as life on Earth has been quite enjoyable, so far. Thus, they do everything in their power to stop the final confrontation...
The cast includes a witch finder army (of two), the four motorbike riders of the Apocalypse, Tibetan monks, UFOs and gang of juveniles, who turn out to be quite decisive in the development of mankind.
The whole book is uproarously funny and very well read. Even if you have not encountered the world of Terry Pratchett (who was the main contributor to this), this will turn you into a fan. Get it!
