"While the history books are filled with tales of obsessive visionary geniuses who remade the world in their images with sheer, almost irrational force, I've found that history is also made by individuals who fought their egos at every turn, who eschewed the spotlight, and who put their higher goals above their desire for recognition." All of the message is already in the title
Like so many books in this genre the author tries desperately to inflate a very simple concept until he can sell it as a book.It points out the very obvious fact that being overly self-involved and too focused on your own success and the "myth" that surrounds it is ultimately self-defeating.If you are already a humble person that considers himself to be above nothing and anybody, this book will waste several hours of your time. It will not teach you anything you didn't know already. If you think you have a problem with your ego, it might be mildly enlightening.
