Authentic, intriguing, witty main character who can stand his ground and is true to himself and his worldview.Very few cringe worthy "vampire cliché"-moments. Capturing power play between MC and supernaturals. "Believable" romance.
Only "negative" remark: I wish the audio books would be a bit more extensive (time wise), meaning 12h+ per part of series.
Nevertheless, this great story coupled with one of the best voice actors I've had the pleasure listening to, gives this first part of a probably grand series a special place in my list of favorite fantasy novels. Well done!

The start of something great!
BEHOLD! This is the Start of the Demon Accords Series, and it starts off great. There is a bit of Worldbuilding and Introduction of the MC, but it is always intertwined with some great action.
Meet Chris, who is a really nice MC, because he is (and stays) believeable. He has a Gift, but he still has to work hard in order to stay alive. He is by far not the strongest or most cunning of the Characters, but he stays true to himself and gives his all.
Having lived a pretty solitary life so far, he is not really used to attention, coworkers or females in general. He is good at what he does, but in his "normal" Job, he is still a Rookie.
The other Characters are also introduced nicely and even small supporting Roles still seem fleshed out and fit in nicely. One of the Characters does not speak ever, and still is an amazing edition to the cast.
John Conroe managed what a lot of others fail to do, to find the right mixture of Action, (believeable) Story, and technical Facts throughout the Book. (and the rest of the Series tbh)
JPC does a really nice Job reading, each Character is easily distinguishable through Accent, Voice Modulation and Style of Speech.
Although the 9h are on the shorter end of my preferred Audiobooks, they contain more good Content than some of the 16h+ Books i own.
Even after listening to God Touched multiple Times so far, there still are no Moments i skip through. The Characters grow through the books, and whenever i return to the beginning, it is still a fascinating Beginning. I have listened to the available Books (up to Book 12 atm) 4 Times so far, and i am about to start the fifth Playthrough right now.
Although not really comparable, this Series pushed past Dresden Files, Iron Druid, Nightside and Alex Verus in my personal Audiohall of Fame . (And is 2nd Place on my Favorite Series (written or listened))
Amazing beginning of my favorite Audio-Series. Never a dull Moment, lots of Action, intertwined with a bit of worldbuilding. Only 9h, but filled to the Brim with Entertainment and hard to put down.
My favorite Series out of 290 Audiobooks so far
