At the end of The Intern's Handbook, John tracks down his nemesis, Alice, but instead of putting a bullet in her head, he puts a ring on her finger and marries her. Together they execute a hostile takeover of Human Resources, Inc., the "placement agency" that trains young assassins to infiltrate corporations disguised as interns and knock off high-profile targets. As HR's former top operatives, they are successful until conflicting management styles cause an ugly breakup that locks John out of the bedroom and the boardroom.
But when Alice takes on a new HR target, John is forced to return to the office battlefield in a role he swore he would never play again: the intern. What starts out as a deadly showdown turns into the two of them fighting side by side to save HR, Inc. - and their marriage.
"Those who like Dexter will love John Lago" (Booklist), and in Shane Kuhn's sequel to The Intern's Handbook, listeners will be rooting for this smart, witty antihero to come out on top.

At least as good as the first book!!!!
Was hat Ihnen das Hörerlebnis von Hostile Takeover besonders unterhaltsam gemacht?
The entire story is so vastly absurd, and yet in a weird way realistic. Shane Kuhn is my hero of hand to hand combat scene writing, which are always mean and the epitome of 'fighting dirty'. The story is more explosive than the charges John uses to blow a hole into the hotel room floor on his wedding night and the many plot twists more surprising than Alice trying to kill him at every opportunity.
Welcher Moment von Hostile Takeover ist Ihnen besonders im Gedächtnis geblieben?
There are so many memorable moments in this book, mostly the absurdly creative methods Alice uses to try and whack John. My favorite is her first poisoning him with a pen, only to then send him a bunch of 'get better soon - balloons' to the hospital, filled with hydrogen...
Welche Szene hat Ihnen am besten gefallen?
When Alice and John beat the shit out of each other on the bathroom floor and Alice pulls the most brilliant technique you can imagine...
Hätten Sie das Hörbuch am liebsten in einem Rutsch durchgehört?
I did hear it in one go.
Was wäre für andere Hörer sonst noch hilfreich zu wissen, um das Hörbuch richtig einschätzen zu können?
If you liked 'The intern's handbook' then this book is for you. if you haven't heard it before, start with the first book, because then the second one will make a lot more sense. You probably need to be a bit of a sarcastic bastard yourself to really enjoy this book, but it's worth a try in any case
