wie immer top Sprecher
der Vorleser ist wie immer super! Die Geschichte hinkt für mich an einigen Stellen ist aber trotzdem kurzweilig und spannend.

Horrible short version
The ending is abrupt and makes no sense. Overall too short. What happened to the characters in the end?

Good Story, unfortunately abridged
Story is good and exciting with characters known from other Zahn Star Wars books. When used to Marc Thompson as reader, this book needs to get used to. Unfortunately story is shortened. I had sometimes the feeling that things happen fast and while the important key elements are there the details in between are missing. If one is fan of Thrawn, this book can be recommended.

Butchered adaptation
A) This is an abridged version, and not just abridged but severely and badly adapted. It omits and changes significant plot points linked to other stories, including the actual ending and the fate of several characters that should have an impact on future events.
B) The concepts explored here are great, but there are too many lackluster descriptions and clichés in the writing and then poor deliveries in the performance, particularly in the middle and early parts of the story.
The story is almost an obligatory read for fans, given its significance in the legacy/Zahn cannon. But that importance just highlights the problems with this edition. Go read it on paper; don't listen to the audio version.

Abridged Version, Watch Out!
I have sadly made the mistake of not realizing, that this is an abridged version, until I talked about the ending with some friends.
It is very different to the complete ending. Further many relevant plot points are missing entirely, which strip the character development from some of the characters.
If I’m not mistaken some things are even contradictory in this abridged version…
I felt it hard to rate this book, since I love Timothy Zahns Thrawn Books, and after now also listening to the complete book, I can say that it’s Story does not let you down on expectations, but this abridged version really seems as if they butchered it…

The end is missing!
The production is great and the story too but they just cut of the end! I have never witnessed anything like that you don't learn anything about how the story ends for any of the main characters. Actually you either have to read the book or go to wookieepedia to learn how the book ended and what happened to all the characters. Two of them actually died after the audio book ended! This honestly is a joke.
