Slow burn but extremely good
It took me several tries to get into the book, but once I did, it was fantastic. Truly a great read.

Overwhelming Performance!
An overwhelming story with overwhelming performance. Her French accent sounds French, her German accent German, without exaggeration nor cheap cliché, and her Scot sounds Scotish, it even gets broader and broader the more Finn becomes aggitated. No woman gets a "baby voice", all women sound selfconfident and grown up. Even the male voices sound male. You can feel all emotions of the protagonists through the reading voice of Saskia Maarleveld. Phantastic!

Wonderful story
Highly recommendable exciting story about strong women. Heartbreaking novel about first and Second World War. Beautiful voice. Great!

captivating story!
we loved it! it is a great story, only sometimes a little lack of logic. After all the hours of listening we were sad when it comes to an end! The narrator read fantastic!

the narrator is absolutely brilliant
I have to confess, I am not too far along in the book yet - only about 2 hours or so. So I cannot say much about the story although what I've listened to so far has been very interesting and well written. However, I did want to take the time to congratulate the narrator on her brilliant performance...not only does she have a remarcable voice and a beautiful American accent, but she perfectly captures several different British and even French accents and is great at performing different voices for the different characters. A big bravo to Saskia Maarleveld! I cannot wait to listen to the rest of the story.

Awesome history lesson!
A great history novel, perfectly read to tell an exciting wartime story on the life of a female spy with many great surprises!

boring
I found the alice network really boring. it just started to drag at some stage. it was also really annoying that you would be really invested in one part of the story and then the next chapter would be in the present and take u away from the part of the story that was interesting. was not a fan of the main character. however this is just my opinion. those in my book club who read this loved it.
