Great Intro
Excellent intro to Homer for a novice. The lecture series became more and more exciting as one approached the end.

Great lecture(s) by a great tutor
There are normally names in historical sciences where you know, that you can't do anything wrong when joining one of her or his lectures. One of those names is Elizabeth Vangiver.
I really enjoy the great extent of her research, the level of details of her courses and the clean positioning of her studies. All of them help to shape out a clean and well-founded approach to a topic, that on the first glance looks like a mythos, but reveals his historical realism on a second glance.
As she already did in her lectures about the Iliad, Elizabeth Vangiver summarizes in a clear approach to the topic the contents of Homer's Odyssey. Unlike in her Iliad session, she favors to stick to the contents very much stronger. Yet she also emphasizes contradictions in Homer's Odyssey and also outlines scientific doubts on the homeric authorship of some of it's contents.
As a summary, Ms. Vangiver then turns towards Schliemann's excavation of Troia, as well as the latest historical researches about this mythological conflict.
As always, I enjoyed Elizabeth Vangiver lectures, and I can also recommend them highly to people with a more academic outlook on it's topics. Thank you for sharing the works here.
