Why!?

This is infuriating, I can't enjoy the story because nobody acts like a real person and that's because the story would only be half as long if it wouldn't artificially keep the protagonist in the dark about everything that would make her life easier.

For example the protagonist is very independent according to the story, but in every situation where that character trait could be manifested she gives in to the other parties even when she knows the arguments of the other parties are lies or at least only half truths.
Why the hell does the protagonist not attack her bodyguard because of what she did, first kissing her and then pushing her away and then get angry even though the bodyguard has all the information while the protagonist is fishing in the dark.
Why did the protagonist not talk with anyone about the kiss to her neck while the concert had no lights.

If you want a story where the protagonist lacks information then find better explanations than "we just can't talk about it"!
Everybody already knows that the protagonist will be better off after these informations are revealed.
